At Brister, we will greet you with a smile and treat you like a member of the family from day one. When you arrive, our greeters will be eager to get you to the right place and answer any questions you may have regarding the church.
Come as you are! Whether you are comfortable in blue jeans or a business suit, you will fit in with our laid-back style. We have a place for every member of your family at Brister Baptist Church.

Do you have questions about visiting?
Visiting a new church for the first time can be a nerve-racking experience, but we don't want it to be that way at Brister! There are all of the normal questions about worship times, Sunday School classes, children's ministries, and even where to park. We have covered many visitor-oriented questions below, but if you have more, feel free to contact a member of our pastoral staff directly. They are more than willing to answer your questions any day of the week.
What time does church start on Sunday?
Brister has a unique Sunday morning schedule when compared to a lot of churches. We begin Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., and our Morning Worship starts at 10:15 a.m. Although there is no set time for church to be over, we usually dismiss by 11:15 a.m.
How do I dress?
Come as you are! Everyone has a different definition of how their "Sunday best" looks. On Sunday mornings you might see a few men wearing a tie, and some women wear dresses. However, most men come open-collar, and many of the women wear pants. You'll even catch a large number in jeans. We're really not worried about what you're wearing. We just want you to feel comfortable as you worship.
Is there a Sunday School class for me? What about my kids?
We have a Sunday School class for everyone in your family! From the nursery to senior adults, everyone has a place. We think the small group atmosphere of Sunday School is an important part of church life. Getting involved in Sunday School will help you become integrated into the Brister family much faster! What do you offer for my kids?
There are a lot of kids at Brister on any given Sunday or Wednesday. On Sunday, we offer age-appropriate Sunday School classes and a nursery for newborns through toddlers. Children's Church is available during the morning worship time for children age three through kindergarten. On Wednesday, the Awana ministry brings kids from all over the community to Brister. Awana is for kids from age three through sixth grade. The Youth Group also meets on Wednesday nights for students in grades 7-12.
What Bible translation do you use?
There are several different English translations of the Bible floating throughout the congregation on any given Sunday morning. The pastors primarily preach from the New King James Version, mixing in other translations like the New American Standard Bible, the Amplified Bible, or others from time to time.
